
A native Californian, Avery has recorded five albums. He has performed extensively at such events as the Black History Month Concert at Jack London Square, Oakland, CA; Ha Ha Comedy Club, Hollywood, CA; Mt. Hermon Christian Conference Center, Felton, CA; West Coast praze Show at Gener8tion Studios, Hollywood, CA; Christian Guitar and Bass Conference, Los Altos, CA; Worship In The Park, Caldwell, ID; Multnomah University Stage at the Luis Palau Portland Cityfest, and many others. He has shared the stage with the likes of Bryan Duncan, Anointed, Larnell Harris, Jon Gibson, Acappella, AVB, and others.
Stafford is a two-time nominee for the 2006 Los Angeles International Music Awards. He is the March 2007 Winner and the December 2007 Runner Up (Christian category) in the Song of the Year International Songwriting Competition, sponsoring VH-1 Save The Music. He is also the 2008 Pure Gospo Awards "Best Solo Artist." In 2009, Avery received an Honorable Mention in the prestigious Billboard World Song Contest.
His INDIE album project, Undignified, was reviewed as being "the most innovative vocal performance since Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On' record." SoGospel describes Avery as "one of the most moving, smoothest & soulful voices in Gospel Music I have ever had the chance to hear!" Producers and musicians for this project have worked with Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Little Richard, Ambrosia, Rolls Royce, Ohio Player, Frank Zappa, and Quincy Jones to name a few.
Avery is now in the studio co-producing his new album with saxophonist Eddie M. (Prince and the Revolution, Sheila E., Stevie Nicks, Karyn White, and many others) and legendary CCM/R&B recording artist Jon Gibson.
